The insulation resistance standard for vacuum pressure switches is usually required to be relatively high to ensure their electrical performance and safety. Generally speaking, when using a megohmmeter with a rated voltage of 500V to check the insulation resistance between the microswitch contacts and the meter housing, it should be greater than 20 megohms. For the overall insulation resistance of vacuum pressure switches, there are different requirements at different rated voltages. For instance, in the relevant electrical equipment test standards, for equipment with a rated voltage ranging from 3kV to 15kV, the overall insulation resistance is generally required to be no less than 300MΩ. For equipment with a rated voltage of 20kV to 35kV, the overall insulation resistance is generally required to be no less than 1000MΩ.
In practical applications, the measured value of insulation resistance should not change much compared with the previous measured value. If the measured values are significantly lower than the standard values or previous measured values, it may indicate a decline in insulation performance and further inspection and treatment are required.
