Key points for selecting the installation position of vacuum pressure switches

The selection of the installation position for vacuum pressure switches is crucial for their normal operation and measurement accuracy. The following are the key points to consider when choosing the installation position:

Be close to the monitored equipment or pipeline

Directly reflect pressure changes: The vacuum pressure switch should be installed as close as possible to the vacuum equipment or pipeline being monitored. For instance, in a vacuum pump system, the switch is installed near the pump outlet, which enables direct and rapid perception of the pressure changes within the vacuum system. If the installation location is far from the equipment or pipeline, due to factors such as pressure loss in the pipeline and gas flow resistance, the pressure detected by the switch may deviate from the actual pressure, affecting the normal operation of the system.

Reduce interference factors: Close installation can reduce the interference of external factors on pressure measurement. For instance, to avoid the influence of factors such as temperature changes and vibrations that may occur in long-distance pipelines on the pressure signal, and to ensure that the switch can accurately obtain vacuum pressure information.

Avoid high temperatures and vibration sources

High-temperature impact: High-temperature environments can have an adverse effect on the performance of vacuum pressure switches. High temperatures may accelerate the aging of electronic components inside the switch, reduce the accuracy of sensors, and even damage the switch. Therefore, the installation location should be far away from high-temperature equipment, such as heating furnaces and steam pipes. If it is impossible to completely avoid high-temperature areas, effective heat insulation measures should be taken, such as installing heat insulation covers to isolate the switch from the high-temperature source and ensure that the switch operates within an appropriate temperature range.

Vibration interference: Intense vibration can cause the internal components of vacuum pressure switches to loosen and wear out, affecting the stability and accuracy of their measurements. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid installing the switch near equipment with significant vibration, such as large motors and compressors. If installation must be carried out in a vibrating environment, vibration damping devices such as rubber vibration damping pads and vibration damping brackets should be used to reduce the impact of vibration on the switch.

Easy to operate and maintain

Easy operation: The installation location should be convenient for staff to debug the switch, set parameters and perform other operations. For instance, the operation components such as the adjustment knob and display screen of the switch should be placed in a position that is easily accessible and observable, facilitating the operator to adjust parameters such as the pressure threshold and output signal of the switch according to actual needs.

Convenient maintenance: Considering that the switch may need regular maintenance, inspection or replacement, the installation location should have sufficient space to facilitate the disassembly and installation of the switch by maintenance personnel. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the surrounding environment of the installation site is clean and tidy, without any obstructions, so that repairs can be carried out quickly and conveniently in case of faults.

Consider the direction of gas flow and pressure distribution

Gas flow influence: In a vacuum system, the direction and velocity of gas flow can affect the distribution of pressure. When installing a vacuum pressure switch, the direction of gas flow should be taken into account to avoid installing it in areas where gas flow is unstable or prone to vortices. For instance, at the elbows, tees and other parts of the pipeline, the gas flow is complex and the pressure distribution is uneven, making it unsuitable to install switches. Straight pipe sections with relatively stable gas flow and uniform pressure distribution should be selected for installation.

Uniform pressure distribution: Ensure that the pressure at the installation position can truly reflect the pressure condition of the entire vacuum system. If there is abnormal local pressure at the installation location, such as near the inlet and outlet of valves or pumps, it may cause frequent or incorrect operation of the switch due to large pressure fluctuations. Therefore, it is necessary to select a position with uniform pressure distribution for installation to enhance the reliability and stability of the switch.

Avoid chemically corrosive environments

Corrosive medium influence: If there are corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, organic solvents, etc. in the vacuum system, the installation location should be far away from areas where these media may leak or volatilize. Corrosive media can cause corrosion to the housing, seals, sensors and other components of vacuum pressure switches, damaging the structure and performance of the switches.

Protective measures: If it is impossible to avoid a chemically corrosive environment, corresponding protective measures should be taken, such as using corrosion-resistant materials to make the switch housing and installing protective covers, etc., to protect the switch from corrosion.
